The virtual exists alongside the actual, together forming reality. Other-worlds (fictional, imagined, virtual, etc.) exist alongside the physical world. Both are real.

»wenn ick schon wieder diese akademischen Analysen und Rationalisierungsversuche über AfD Wähler lese! Ich habe genug mit so Leuten geredet, da ist nix rational und ich befürchte mit bisschen mehr Polizei hier, bisschen mehr Infrastruktur da ist da überhaupt nix geholfen. Die ganze Chose ist genauso irrational wie eine Verteidigungsministerin vdL nach Brüssel zu schicken, Öttinger als Digitalkommisar, Wechsel von Politik in Wirtschaft, Gesetze geschrieben von Lobbyverbänden etc. Irrationalität meets Irrationalität sozusagen.

Das sind auch keine abgehängten, asoziale etc, sondern sehr oft Leute die einiges im Leben erreicht haben und jetzt ihre ganze Intelligenz zum Fenster rauswerfen um endlich mal wieder ein Wirgefühl zu erleben. Und mir deucht, viele von denen lassen sich nicht mehr einfangen, aber die ganze Analyse ist wieder für’n Arsch wenn da weiter so mit dämlichen Statistiken rumgedoktert wird, anstatt sich mal in dieses, zugegebenermaßen eklige, Stahlbad zu begeben«

The Meeting

A Minor Anthropology (April 15, 2019)

Official meetings in any institution (political, economic, scientific, cultural) serve three general purposes:


a) enforcing and staging social cohesion amongst its protagonists

b) detecting and annihilating resisting opponents to current activities and decision processes

c) demanding and coercing an (ideally unanimous) acclamation to current activities and decisions


Official meetings are, therefore, apparatuses of cleansing in order to manufacture institutional alignement.

If you’re human, you’re biased. Now what?


Just reticence and tenderness, dabbed on the edges of nothingness.


Much of what geologists find as traces of the Anthropocene are also traces of the slave mode of production – but this is rarely mentioned.


How their everyday lives seem to be spared from all violence – just because the violence absent here has been relocated elsewhere.


What is one trillion to the tenth power?


This is, at the very least, a good example of the simplification, trivialization, domestication, and ideological neutralization of a complex and critical notion, which thus becomes just another commonplace that can then be reabsorbed into mainstream.


I think I’m gonna happen.


The problem with capitalism is that eventually you run out of other people’s commons.


All friends of the multiverse, of modal realism, also of pataphysics, but especially of alternate histories will rejoice!
